New Artwork, Stationery, & Other News!

I have another new artwork! Gaia Persephone (Major Arcana) is my newly completed artwork for my upcoming Sidhe Queen Oracle! She is a beauty, and I will be honest when I say that I worked harder (and ran away from more) on this artwork than I have on any other in my entire life! But, like they say, striving for perfection is difficult, but in the end, incredibly worth it. Gaia Persephone is easily my favorite of all my Creations. :)

Gaia Persephone

At the moment, Gaia Persephone is available as 5x7 prints and bookmarks. As with the rest of my Sidhe Queen Oracle, 8.5x11 prints can only be obtained on my website when The Sidhe Queen Oracle is published, OR if you own a store, they are available wholesale through Wholesale Fantasy Art.

And, speaking of publishing, I've only got a few more artworks to go before I start submitting them to companies! As of right now I am planning on targeting Llewellyn, US Games Systems, and Blue Angel. I would like to start pitching The Sidhe Queen Oracle to them by the end of this year, but I'll keep you updated! If you would like to help, feel free to send either/all of these companies emails requesting that my deck be published- it would help me tremendously to have that sort of support! Speaking of new artworks, I've already got 3 new ones that I'm waiting to unveil which you will see very soon, including a Halloween artwork (I will be working on Halloween art all year round from now on!), a Christmas artwork, and a Whimsy! In addition, I've only got a few months until the end of 2011 and I plan to work work work- so expect many Christmas/Holiday themed works & Sidhe Queen works before the end of the year. :)

Let's see....oh! I wanted to announce that I am considering taking my stationery out of my repertoire of in-house merchandise (meaning I produce it in my studio) and move my stationery designs to Zazzle. Even though I've been a Fantasy Faery Artist on and off since 2004, I've only seriously been building my business since 2010- only about a year and a half! I don't recieve nearly as many sales as I need, let alone where I would like to be sale-wise....and I believe that I'm getting a bit ahead of myself in the product department. So, in an effort to not stretch myself too thin, I am most likely going to move my stationery designs to my Zazzle shop. You'll still be able to purchase them there and have them delivered to you, but just not personally made by me!

This change may not happen immediately, but be a gradual phasing out as I have many other things to focus my attention on from now until the end of the year! I just wanted to give my fans a heads up. :)

Also, I regularly take part in an artistic thingy called Sketchfest. This past month I completed sketches, but I was not able to post them online before the deadline. I will be posting a poll on my Facebook Fanpage asking whether you would still like to see the sketches I completed posted on Facebook even though they're not posted on the Sketchfest site itself. Make sure to go vote and lemme know! :)

And last on the news list- I'm not sure how many of you know, but in addition to being a Fantasy Artist, I am also an Actress, Singer, Novelist, Entrepreneur and a whole bunch of other things I dont feel like listing off right now! I IZ RENESAAANZ WOMIN! YAYZ! :)

Anywhoo, I announced this on my Facebook profile last week, but I will officially announce it here as well- I will be submitting an audition tape for The Glee Project. I have whittled down the song choices to either Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" or The Righteous Brothers "Unchained Melody". I am so torn between the two that I may actually do a pre-recording and let ya'll vote for the one you want me to post on my Facebook page. :) When I do actually post the audition and my profile, I would appreciate your support! Bug your family, friends, and co-workers to watch and like- Share it obnoxiously on your wall cuz I'm gonna be famous! :)

EDIT: Right after I posted this blog and mozied on over to MailChimp.com to send out my mailing list email, this random saying popped up.....I don't personally believe in coinkydinks. I'm taking this as a *SIGN*!!! ;D

Occupy Wall Street

For an indefinite period of time (aka from now on until I say so lol!) 50% of all print sales will be donated to occupywallst.org. This is a beautiful wave of human consciousness that shows me inexorably that dignity, compassion, strength, and peace are not dead. I am going to help any way that I can, and every print purchase helps! We are the 99%! :)

New Artwork

2011 has been a very productive year for me artistically and its not over yet! I've got a few months until New Year's Eve and I plan to make the most of it- so keep a lookout for new artwork from me and remember SUPPORT INDIE ARTISANS, BUY HANDMADE!

Mab's Light

Mab's Light was completed for my highly anticipated upcoming oracle deck, The Sidhe Queen Oracle. I made a few naming changes as you can tell....I just think Mab's Light or Rhiannon's Shadow for example sounds much more finesse than Rhiannon Shadow Card lol...I hope you agree. :) At the moment Mab's Light is available as 5x7 prints and bookmarks on my website. :)

Glow

Glow is my first mermaid in my professional career! I had a ton of fun playing with glowy techniques and you'll be able to see that a lot in my art from now on ( I loooooove glowy thingies!). Glow is available as 8.5x11 and 5x7 prints, bookmarks, and stationery. :)

Autumn Sidhe

Autumn Sidhe was finished late July as a cover entry for Gypsy Rose (I adore their clothing...and well everything lol!). Unfortunately, I didn't win which was a bit disappointing, but I will keep trying for the cover in the future. :) Autumn Sidhe is available as 8.5x11, 5x7 and ACEO sized prints, bookmarks, and stationery. :)

.....I am about 90% done with my next card for The Sidhe Queen Oracle, Gaia's Major Arcana card which will be named Gaia Persephone! :) I should have it posted up and blogged all over the internetz by the end of the week (I hope!). Then I plan on taking a mini break to work on some Whimsy Halloween artwork (I know, I know late in the game Coriander hehe) while multitasking on the next card for The Sidhe Queen Oracle.

Speaking of the next card of The Sidhe Queen Oracle.....did you know that for almost every card I complete for the deck I do a giveaway on my Facebook fanpage? Well I do!!! New Art Line & New Prints & Giveaway!

Since I last posted I debuted a new line of artwork on my website called the "Whimsies". The Whimsies are inspired strongly by kawaii artwork- I just love it!

The original line debuted with 3 artworks in June 2011. I have released 2 new Whimsy artworks to the public yesterday!

The first is entitled, "Do You Like My Hat?" and is inspired by those Dr. Seuss hats that used to be wildly popular when I was a teenager! I love those things, but they are so impractical now!

Speaking of new artworks, I am currently working on another card for my highly anticipated Sidhe Queen Oracle! I am holding a giveaway for the first two people to correctly guess which Queen I am working on. Now, I want to talk about licensing. Within the past two weeks I've signed 3 licensing deals! That's double the amount of deals I have currently- and trust me when I say I'm utterly stoked! So by now, you should all have a working idea of how I am and know that a have a million things going at once at any given time! Among the other things I am currently involved in is building a wholesale section of my website, creating artwork to submit for a contest to Gypsy Rose catalog (I love their clothes), getting my artwork ready to submit to Expose Fantasy CG Art Book, and many other things I can't quite reveal yet. I am a busy girl! :)

Also, in another blog post/mailing list email coming soon I will talk more about something I am going to start providing, psychic readings! This has been something on my mind for a very long time and recently something happened to me that pushed me firmly in that direction. I took it as a sign from the Universe that this is what I should be doing! The story behind this is a blog post in and of itself that I will elaborate on soon! :)

Also also (hehe), before I forget, a writer has signed on to assist me in preparing material for The Sidhe Queen Oracle. Her name is Elizabeth Saenz and she is a gifted psychic, medium and reiki practitioner in her own right. I am incredibly excited and happy to be working with her and I find this whole process just wonderful. It is amazing how an idea, a gentle nudge can be created into something real!

The Super Mega Update!

I have so much new news! Many new artworks released and likewise new bookmarks and stationery. I have not 1 but 2 new licensing deals to announce as well as some other good news!

Let's start with the artwork! :)

Something Exotic & Intriguing II

Something Exotic & Intriguing II reflects my latest digital style. It's still evolving at a rapid rate, as I become more used to the art programs I work with and read more about the subject. I used Corel Painter for this piece, which I am becoming quite fond of. SE&I II was done as a second installment to the original Something Exotic & Intriguing, which I did during the infancy of my faery art career in 2004 and is based loosely off of my mother. 8.5x11 and 5x7 Open Edition prints as well as stationery sets and bookmarks are available from this image!

Firesprite

Firesprite is another artwork completed for the trading card game Conflicting Kingdoms. It is available as 8.5x11 and 5x7 Open Edition prints as well as stationery sets and bookmarks....have I mentioned that I design all stationery and bookmarks myself? :)

Forgotten Summer

Forgotten Summer was completed for the Enchanted Visions Project and done in my "home" medium, colored pencil. It's inspired by the love story of Persephone (called Kore in Greek) and Hades. Since Persephone's original Greek name is so close to my own, I really identify with her and this myth! Be sure to read the poem that I wrote on the page. This image is available as 11x8.5 and 7x5 Open Edition prints!

Aene: Light Card, Major Arcana

This artwork is the first of my highly anticipated oracle deck, The Sidhe Queen Oracle. It will be my first oracle deck (of many!) and will be completely illustrated and written by myself! It is a huge undertaking, but a journey that is very close to my spiritual perceptions and beliefs; stay tuned for many more artworks of this deck to come! :)

Aene: Light Card is available as Open Edition 5x7 prints as well as stationery sets and bookmarks. 8.5x11 Open Edition prints of this artwork as well as all the other artworks of The Sidhe Queen Oracle will not be available until after this deck is completed and published. The original sketches of these artworks will also be available to purchase at that time! :)

These next two artworks, while completed in 2010 are brand spanking new! I just made them available as prints and products on my website last night! :)

The Phoenyx

The Phoenyx, as I mentioned above, was completed in colored pencil in 2010. This color combination is a new one to me and a very intense one that I love! I will be definetly using this color scheme in the future. This artwork is available on my website as 8.5x11 and 5x7 Open Edition prints, stationery kits as well as bookmarks!

Melusine

Boy do I have a lot to say about this one! Often when I create artworks, I don't know the title until I complete it and the title just pops into my head. This is the case with Melusine. Melusine is one of the more popular faery legends and is actually said to be half serpent, what others would call a naga! After re-reading her myth, I found it ironic that my Melusine artwork had such a sweet face when her mythical counterpart was said to be so vengeful...perhaps there is more going on beneath the surface? Even though I didn't illustrate her naga qualities in this piece, I am contemplating turning Melusine into an ongoing series. :)

This artwork was completed in 2010 with pen, chalk, chalk pastel, and colored pencil. Even though I didn't consciously intend it at the time, this piece almost perfectly matches my Sylph artwork (2009) and would be a wonderful companion piece to it!

Whoo, that was ALOT of artwork! And the good news is, I have at least 5 new artworks that are almost finished so expect more from me this month!

As for other news, I signed two licensing deals with the sister companies Kat's Magical Stamps and QueenKat Designs. Kat's Magical Patches produces fabric blocks and iron-on transfers perfect for the crafty folk and quilters out there. QueenKat Designs produces gorgeous rubber stamps! If you click on the text links, they will take you straight to my artwork galleries on each site...how convenient huh! :)

I also have begun to sell my Original Sketches. I have a particular system worked out for all of you to be able to get ahold of an Original SIGNED (Yes! I will autograph each sketch!) piece of my artwork for a very good price!

I will be introducing a few new sketches for sale each week through Ebay. Each sketch will start out with a low starting bid of 4.99 and a Buy-It-Now price of whatever I can sacrifice it for. Each auction will run for 7 days and I ship worldwide! Once the auction ends, that's it! I will not re-list that particular sketch again. I then put the sketches that don't sell on Ebay up for sale on my website, usually for more than the Buy-It-Now price was on the auction. I've provided the links to both places below for easy perusal of the sketches I have available! Please check these links often as I will be adding new sketches every few days! :)

...As for other news, I have begun listing prints on FAEBAE, which is a niche auction site specifically for artisans of faery. I currently have 8.5x11 Open Edition prints for sale, but will add more items every week!

In addition to all of this good news, I have also been steadily adding new items to my Zazzle store. I have recently added mousepads and round ceramic ornaments and at the moment I am in the process of adding highly attractive greeting cards designed by myself! Whew! That was a lot of news, wasn't it? I still have the feeling that I forgot something too.....lol!

Now I'd like to talk about some of the stuff I've got in store. :)

...At the moment, I am in the middle of completing the last two contracted cards for Conflicting Kingdoms (one is about 90% complete, I am about 75% finished with the second card of The Sidhe Queen Oracle, and I have a whole new line of artwork that I'm about ready to debut! I don't want to say a lot about them right now, but my contemporaries from EMG Sketchfest know them as my "Whimsies"...for anyone who knows about them will agree, they are ADORABLE!

I also have more kitsune artworks in the mix as well as mermaids! I realized the other day that in the 7+ years I've been doing Fantasy Faery artwork that I have no mermaids as part of my portfolio...I will have to remedy that!

I also have handmade plushie and doll commissions in the works as well as some jewelry made from my artwork to upload and sell....so in a nutshell, I've got a RIDICULOUS amount of things that I'm going to introduce this year...look forward to many many emails! :)

Cinder

Earthwitch

Earthwitch was also done for Conflicting Kingdoms; she was my last piece completed in 2010! Earthwitch is also available as 8.5x11 and 5x7 Open edition prints as well as stationery and bookmarks.

Legend

Legend is my very first time depicting a Kitsune, a Japanese fox spirit. This piece was completed from a sketch done for EMG's Sketchfest, http://www.ellenmilliongraphics.com/sketchfest/ , Legend is also available as 8.5x11 and 5x7 Open edition prints as well as stationery and bookmarks.

In addition to the new stationery and bookmark designs mention above, Watersprite is also now available as stationery and bookmarks!

As for new work, I've been a veritable "machine" since the beginning of the year and I have no intention of stopping! I have a completely new line of artwork up my sleeve, as well as two work-in-progress artworks, and a new series in the works. Be sure to stay tuned; this will be a busy busy year! :)

FAERIECON

Just dropping in to say FAERIECON was a blast! A little bummed that I didn't do as well financially as I had hoped, however as far as exposure and getting to meet so many fellow faery friends and artists that I admire, I was so happy to go!

It just seemed like at every turn right up until the night before things were going wrong; my finances were deadlocked which meant I couldn't order much needed supplies until late, I got an allergic reaction to aspirin the day before when we were supposed to set up, the whole weekend our vehicle barely got to and fro (we stocked up on power steering fluid, having to fill it up EVERY time we stopped) and after all that, I think the most important lesson I've learned was a hard one for me...TO LET GO.

Oh I'm still frustrated about some things, but I took my hubby's advice; if I can make myself ok with either possible extreme and not be attached to anything, then I will be a lot more relaxed...and I am. Right now, EV update is done until the next one on Dec. 5th, I've got a loooong ass list of things to accomplish, have no idea how I'm going to be able to vend at Mythic Faire in March and really hoping that I can sell off the EXTRA EXTRA leftovers from Faeriecon, but it's all good.

I've got prints galore to update. Halfway done with my first two breakthrough pieces for the Sidhe Queen Oracle I'm planning. But for now, the beautiful bottle of Blackberry Arbor Mist is calling me from upstairs....

2 New Prints!

Two new open edition prints are available on my website! Oddity & Thoth! I am in the middle of doing a major update to prints, so expect to see many new prints in the near future....I'm trying to add order to this chaos, lol!

Oddity

Oddity is an OLD SCHOOL artwork, done while I was in high school...2003/2004! It is a linoleum block print done during a printmaking class, a very enjoyable and informative class!

Thoth

Thoth is the first of a series and was done in 2008 during my undergraduate degree for a Fantasy Art class. I chose to depict the dark form of my Muse and as such, this is by far my favorite and precious piece I've ever created!

New Blog

So I've decided to jump on the proverbial bandwagon and get myself a shiny new blog. The weebly one just wasn't cutting it. Also I can have my own background! Though I may change it to one of my artworks when ....I feel like it...haha!

I've been toying around with the idea of having seperate blogs for my dreams/visions and for my tarot/oracle decks as I work on them...I'll probably cross that bridge when I get to it. God knows I have so many ideas I think my head's going to burst.

Hmmm....now lets see if I can keep up with this. That'll be the real miracle!
